SUMMARY:

Under the direction of the Executive Director of MCG Youth, this position is responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships and internal programming in support of MCG Youth strategic initiatives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required. Essential duties and responsibilities may include, but are not strictly limited to, the following:

Network Development:

  • Identifies nonprofit, educational, and community-based organizations with a shared mission of educating and empowering youth.
  • Initiates and responds to exploratory conversations for the purpose of determining opportunities for collaboration.
  • Ensures alignment with the mission of MCG Youth.

Existing Collaborations:

  • Maintains and strengthens relationships with the existing network of organizations serving youth.
  • Maintains and expands partnerships with post-secondary institutions.
  • Maintains and actively participates in key regional partnerships with Remake Learning, APOST, AIU3, and others related to in-house programming.

Program Enhancements:

  • Proposes workshops, guest speakers, offsite experiences and other enrichment activities based on conversations with network partners.
  • Works with the Executive Director to determine how to integrate new initiatives into existing programming, specifically internal programming.

Program Coordination (ATP, ASP, SS, CCLA):

  • Serves as the primary contact and ensures daily operations of internal programming.
  • Works with the Director of Communications on developing electronic and printed marketing materials.
  • Prepares and presents staff schedules to the Executive Director that maximizes student engagement hours.
  • Works with the Executive Director, the Community Outreach & Engagement Supervisor and the Administrative Assistant on managing the organizational calendar.

Program Administration Responsibilities:

  • Works with the Database Administrator to develop tools to evaluate program effectiveness based on outcome measurement criteria established by Executive Director, funder specific grant agreements, and other partners.
  • At the direction of the Executive Director, ensures that the strategic plan is fully implemented.
  • Supervises and appraises the performance of internal Teaching Artists.
  • Meets regularly with the internal Teaching Artists and ensures the delivery of programming, which is in keeping with the organization’s stated goals and objectives, and contractual obligations.
  • Reviews and approves purchase requisitions for final approval by the Executive Director.
  • Reviews and approves employee timesheets.
  • Reviews and presents to the Executive Director for approval, studio curricula developed by the Teaching Artists.
  • Exhibits understanding and internalization of company values: influence, respect, listen, shape and embrace.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

This position has direct supervisory responsibility for the internal Teaching Artists. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor of Arts degree with a concentration in Visual Arts, Education or a related field.
  • 3 years experience working with young people in an arts, social service, or public-school system environment.
  • Experience in program development, promotion and evaluation, building professional networks and collaboration.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with a diverse population.
  • MS Office skills.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by a worker to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The worker must possess the mobility to work in a standard office setting and use standard office equipment. While performing the duties of this job, the worker is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, talk and hear. The worker is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms, and stoop or kneel. The worker is required to use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, telephone, and other office equipment. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform activities such as viewing a computer screen, reading, and preparing and analyzing documents. Light to moderate lifting may be required. Regular, predictable attendance is required.

Studio work may require additional physical capacity to perform activities which would include movements such as lifting and carrying, bending and twisting, and crouching and stooping. The worker must be able to lift 10-20 pounds repeatedly and up to 50 pounds periodically.
