The Applications Food Technologistis responsible for the development of products which illustrate the benefit of MANE flavors and/or technologies and demonstrates their efficacy. Provide guidance and assistance in sourcing / recommending appropriate equipment (and run equipment) based on category strategies.

We have an immediate opening for an Applications Food Technologist - Portfolio to join our dynamic team in Lebanon, Ohio. The Applications Food Technologistis responsible for the development of products which illustrate the benefit of MANE flavors and/or technologies and demonstrates their efficacy. Provide guidance and assistance in sourcing / recommending appropriate equipment (and run equipment) based on category strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible to complete the assigned projects in a timely and professional manner, ensuring all project parameters are adhered to, i.e., ingredient restrictions, pricing, etc. Maintain confidentiality in the products being produced in respect to the rules of confidentiality, security and sanitation.
- Provides technical expertise in specific areas of flavor applications.
- Provide technical sales support to Account Managers and Marketing as required.
- Attend Project Review Meetings on a regular basis.
- Keep accurate records of all experiments and maintains files on application data.
- Participates in taste panels and project evaluations.
- Handle special tasks and projects as requested in order to meet company objectives.
- Proactively plans daily activities to increase knowledge in cross-category applications as well as R&D systems and processes.
- Manage the stock of formula ingredients as well as other inventory items needed to maintain ongoing projects.
- Building knowledge of raw materials, product formulation, and flavor delivery.
- Drives projects with some direction and guidance and comfortably makes internal presentations
- Building technical skills i.e. experimental design, process knowledge, competitive intelligence
- Possess a technical skill and knowledge of flavors and flavor systems with the ability to manage multiple lines of projects.
- Daily bench work assisting in the development of industry-leading flavors
- Excellent Math Skills and Understanding of basic Laboratory Math Practices
- Collaborative – Willingness to share and learn from experiences
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Must be detail-oriented, organized, and maintain a high level of confidentiality
- Self-motivated, forward thinking problem solver
- Excellent Project Management
- Computer experience, with emphasis on Microsoft Office and formulation software. SAP experience a plus.
- Understanding of safe laboratory practices & follow protocol independently
- Bachelor’s degree required with a preference in Food Science, Nutrition, Chemistry or related technical discipline.
- Product and process development knowledge of flavor technology.
- Minimum of three years in a flavor/food industry preferred with experience in food preparation and/or flavor research and development
