Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Payroll Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing payroll processes, ensuring accurate and timely payment to employees, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations. This role requires proficiency in payroll systems and a strong understanding of accounting principles.

Duties
Performance of payroll for multiple entities:

• Collect, verify, and record employee wages, commissions, hours, and deductions
• Calculate the correct amount of pay incorporative overtime, deductions, bonuses, etc.
• Ensure all correct approvals are in place for payments
• Prepare and execute payroll through electronic systems in order to ensure that employees are paid on time and in the correct amount
• Administer statements of payment to personnel
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws, including remittance of payroll taxes
• Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications
• Reconcile the general ledger for payroll transactions
• Respond to inquiries from clients and their employees regarding payroll issues or concerns
• Complete quarterly internal audits of payroll documentation
• Establishes and maintains a positive working relationship with customers, both internal and external
• Provide process improvement recommendations for clients related to their payroll systems and functions

Requirements

• Proven experience in payroll processing
• Clean background checks (FBI and BCI)
• Associate’s Degree (Bachelor’s Degree preferred) in accounting, finance, or a related field
• Excellent listening, written, and oral communication, organizational, and time-management skills
• Possess knowledge and experience in use of computer software programs
• Professional etiquette to staff & clients

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
