CAD Technician - Land Development Engineering

Job Summary

• Works on routine calculations and drawings with some supervision and reviews engineering designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
  
  

Accountability And Duties

• Ensures proposal protocol is followed
• Mentors and assists with training other CAD staff
• Accurately completes CAD drawings using firm standards
• Cooperates with engineers, architects, planners, technicians, and draftspersons in the conduct of project activities.
• Performs basic calculations at the directions of design teams
• Accurately completes improvement plans: grading, utility, paving, drainage
• Completes drawing preparation in allotted timeframe
• Works closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projects
• Responsible for project schedules and timely completion of projects for self, team members, and subordinates
• Prepares and monitors project budgets
• Keeps supervisor informed of workload and any changes in project scope or additional services
• Provides an accurate accounting of time spent on projects with descriptions for each time entry on a weekly basis
  
  

Required Certificates, Licenses, Registration

• Valid driver’s license.
  
  

Education And/or Experience

• Associates degree or technical experience
• One (1) year of experience, or more, required
  
  

Required Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• Excellent oral and technical written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Ability to design/engineer moderately difficult engineering projects
• Available to work nights and weekends to complete a project as necessary
• Ability to make independent decisions within a general framework
• Knowledge of the industry and related software
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil3D, LDD and Microsoft Office
• Must be fluent in the English language
