District Accounts Payable and Student Activities

POSITION SUMMARY:
The District Accounts Payable and Student Activities position is responsible for receiving, processing, verifying, and reconciling invoices and monthly credit card statements for Manhattan School District Office and reconciling monthly bank statements, credit card and PO statements and fundraisers for Student Activities as well as making all physical deposits flowing through the District Office and Student Activities and booking electronic deposited revenue for Student Activities. This position will maintain the vendor database for the District and request, maintain, and archive necessary W-9s, workers compensation, and general liability forms. Will need to train new staff on purchasing procedures and software as well as prepare and post adjusting, recurring and original accounting entries using a double entry accounting system when needed and will support the District Business Manager/Clerk, Assistant Business Manager/Clerk, and Student Activities Department in day-to-day operations of the School District and Student Activities. DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Equivalent to a high school diploma, or any combination of training and experience which would likely provide the desired knowledge and abilities, two years experience in accounts payables and general clerical work; preferably in a government setting, knowledge of basic accounting principles and general ledger; government accounting knowledge preferable. Must be proficient in Excel and Word and be knowledgeable in IRS regulations regarding 1099 practices.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to the District Superintendent.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
- This position is 40 hours per week, a 260-day contract with flexibility in the summer.
- Vacation and Sick Leave are earned pursuant to Montana Law.
- Position qualifies for insurance and retirement benefits.
