Description
Manhattan Youth is seeking certified Lifeguards to join our aquatics team at our Downtown Community Center in Tribeca. Candidates must be punctual, reliable, personable, and have a strong desire to work with children and families.
This is a part-time position, 8-30 hours per week. Our pool is open:
- Monday-Friday 8:00am-9:00pm
- Saturday and Sunday 8:00am-5:00pm
Preference will go to candidates with some weekend availability (Saturdays, Sundays, or both) and who are available to continue working through our Summer season (which runs through August 17th.)
Pay: $18-22/hr, depending upon experience. Candidates who have experience teaching swim lessons may be eligible for $22/hr .

Responsibilities
- Greet all members to the facility and create a warm, welcoming family environment
- Enforce all aquatics facility policies, rules and regulations
- Maintain a clean and safe environment in and around aquatics facility
- Assist children in our after-school swim programs
- Wear proper uniform and be alert and ready to respond at all times
- Perform other related job duties as required
Qualifications
- Certified Lifeguard (Must hold valid American Red Cross Lifeguard certifications, or equivalent as recognized by the NYC-DOH)
- CPR/AED certification, renewed within last 12 months
- Ability to maintain a positive and energetic attitude and contribute to a positive team culture
- Swim instructor experience or experience working directly with children in a camp or childcare setting is a plus
- Weekend availability is a plus
