Job Description:
The Accounts Payable Associate will assist the Accounts Payable Manager in processing invoices and checks.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Duties/Responsibilities:
Monitor adherence to accounts payable policies
Open and sort mail
Review invoices for authorized approvals, accuracy and coding
Match invoices with purchase orders
Review employee travel and expense reimbursement requests
Enter invoices and check requisitions into the accounting system
Perform all steps in the check production, control and distribution process
Void and cancel checks
Maintain and file accounts payable records
Work with credit card holders to provide proper documentation for their purchases
Review documentation for credit card purchases
Prepare journal entries related to Accounts Payable transactions
Research vendor statements and resolve discrepancies
Resolve vendors’ and staff questions
Prepare schedules and account analyses
Produce AP control report to be sure subsidiary ledger is in balance with the GL control account
Advise vendors of checks that were not cashed on a monthly basis
Provide information for annual financial statement audit
Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
Education:
Associate Degree required.
Experience:
At least three years related experience required.
Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
Hours Expectation:
Full-time, 35 hours per week
