Responsible to provide a safe and secure atmosphere for tenants, and visitors, as outlined in Maniilaq Association Federal or Maniilaq owned housing policies and procedures manual. It is expected that the night watchman be available evenings and weekends at all times, to patrol quarter's areas and/or other Maniilaq Association properties. This position reports to the Housing manager.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONISBILITIES
1. Patrols Maniilaq facilities/quarters to monitor for conditions or situations, which pose a risk to the safety of people or property while carrying a radio and responding to radio calls.
2. Provides assistance to tenants when needed.
4. Investigates and documents security incidents.
5. Maintains fire watch and acts as Fire Control team member.
6. Makes security checks of all housing quarters and other Maniilaq Association properties per schedule.
7. Maintains security log.
8. Opens doors for tenants.
9. Writes report of incidents or disturbances
10. Will make sure all entrances to buildings are clear of debris. IE: Snow/Ice
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Reading and writing skills appropriate for maintaining log of activities, writing reports and understanding policies and procedures. Ability to relate well to tenant, visitors and staff including managing aggressive patients/visitors, demonstrating sound judgment in risky situations and able to physically complete rounds as required. Must possess current Alaska driver's license and have a good enough driving history to be insured to drive Maniilaq vehicles.
