What are the responsibilities and job description for the EQUIPMENT MECHANIC position at Manistee County Road Commission?
The Manistee County Road Commission will accept applications from qualified individuals for a full-time Equipment Mechanic with other duties as assigned. Candidates must be certified (or have the ability to be certified within 119 calendar days of hire date) in gas engine, diesel engine, drive train, suspension, brakes, and electrical for trucks.
Candidates must also possess a valid Michigan Drivers license with a current CDL with A and N endorsements and air brakes and a medical card, have an excellent driving record and be able to pass new hire and random drug and alcohol screens, and be available to work extended hours. If candidates do not currently have the N endorsement, they must obtain the endorsement within 119 calendar days of hire date.
Four (4) years of experience as a truck and construction equipment mechanic including welding and experience in engine electronic systems for modern equipment, and snowplowing experience is desirable.
Education requirements are a high school diploma / GED, or equivalent educational preparation.
