What are the responsibilities and job description for the Meter Systems Administrator position at Manitowoc Public Utilities?
We are adding a new role to our Meter Services Team!
The Meter Systems Administrator understands all aspects of electric and water metering, develops procedures for and periodically operates hardware and software systems used in field services, prepares required records and reports, coordinates work with other departments, provides field support for Meter Technicians, onboards distributed generation customers, periodically leads the implementation of metering-related capital projects and also performs related work as required.
The position will be based out of an office environment but will spend a significant amount of time outside and in the field, observing field service work to aid in drafting procedures, assisting the Electric Distribution Department, particularly during storm/outage scenarios, and standing in for the Senior Meter Technicians in their absence.
Examples of Duties and Responsibilities:
Able to select components, design and build an instrument-rated electric meter setting.
Tests and changes electric and water meters to help buffer Technician workload.
Maintains contacts with contractors, consultants, engineers, vendors, and other relevant organizations.
Remains informed on new and changing products, procedures, and processes in the industry through review of technical manuals and through conference and seminar attendance.
Audits and documents process, updates existing procedures and writes new procedures for metering related work.
Sample of Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Three to five years’ experience in the electric utility industry is required;
A two-year Associate Degree in a related field is preferred;
Ability to direct others, plan ahead, manage and prioritize work, problem solve, communicate effectively, maintain effective working relationships, and have a strong customer orientation.
Starting Pay Rate: $39.27/hour
