JOB POSITION: Inventory Specialist (Cycle Counter) -Full time
Location: Hackensack
Department: Purchasing, Reports To: Inventory Manager
Hourly $19 hr to $19 hr
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Cycle Counter will be responsible for performing regular inventory counts, ensuring accuracy in stock levels, and supporting the overall efficiency of our inventory management processes. This role plays a critical part in maintaining accurate records to support production schedules and minimize discrepancies in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Conduct regular cycle counts of inventory items based on established schedules and procedures.
- Verify physical inventory counts against system records and investigate discrepancies
- Document and report findings to the Inventory Manager, including root cause analysis for variances.
- Collaborate with warehouse and production teams to ensure accurate tracking of materials and finished goods.
- Maintain and update inventory records in the company’s inventory management system.
- Assist in resolving inventory-related issues, such as misplaced items or incorrect labeling.
- Participate in full physical inventory counts as required.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Recommend process improvements to enhance inventory accuracy and efficiency.
EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in inventory management is a plus.
- 1-2 years of experience in inventory control, cycle counting, or a similar role in manufacturing or warehouse setting.
- Familiarity with inventory management software (e.g., ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in counting and documentation.
- Basic math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and material flow.
- Experience with barcode scanners or RFID technology.
- Problem-solving skills to identify and address inventory discrepancies.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORKING CONDITIONS
- This position operates in a manufacturing / warehouse environment with exposure to machinery, moderate noise levels and varying temperatures.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk and lift for extended periods of time throughout the day.
- Some lifting may be required; up to 100 pounds and up to 50 lbs. repeatedly
- May require occasional overtime or weekend work during peak inventory periods.
