POSITION SUMMARY
New Plant Startup! Now hiring for the Plant Engineering Manager position. The Plant Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving plant equipment, systems, and infrastructure to ensure optimal performance, safety, reliability, and quality. This role requires strong technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and effective collaboration with various departments to support production goals and continuous improvement initiatives. This position will report to the Plant Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Design, develop, and implement a comprehensive maintenance program, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance procedures to maximize equipment lifespan and minimize production disruptions.
· Build, develop, and lead high-performing maintenance technician teams.
· Formulate and implement training programs to upskill employees on new systems, ensuring operational readiness and technical expertise.
· Conduct performance reviews, set goals, and provide feedback for continuous improvement.
· Lead the execution of engineering projects from concept to completion, including project scoping, budget management, and timeline adherence.
· Monitor equipment performance metrics to identify potential issues and implement corrective action.
· Analyze and improve plant processes, leveraging Lean, Six Sigma, or other methodologies to enhance performance and reliability.
· Ensure that equipment processes comply with safety regulations and industry standards.
· Identify opportunities for cost reduction without compromising quality.
· Promote a safe work environment and lead by example to prevent accidents and injuries.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) is preferred.
- 5 years of experience as a Plant Engineer in a manufacturing facility.
- In-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and quality standards.
- Experience with equipment installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
- Strong background in team development, employee training, and performance coaching.
- Expertise in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and reliability engineering practices.
- Excellent problem-solving, project management, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and motivate teams.
- Project management experience is a plus.
