Qualified Developmental Disability Professional Job Description
The QIDP plans, coordinates, integrates, and monitors the active treatment process that moves individuals toward independence utilizing a person-centered approach to assist the individuals in fulfilling their desires and needs for an independent life. This position is part of the supervisory management team that guides the overall direction of the facility and is vital to fulfilling the mission and purpose. This position ensures consistent delivery of client programming, oversees the use of the behavior management process to ensure effective interventions are in place and oversees the daily implementation of active treatment. This position will work closely with other departments and agencies for client needs and services. A four-year college degree in social services or related field and a minimum of one year Developmental Disabilities experience is required.
Specific Job Duties Include:
- Assures the atmosphere of overall service provision is therapeutic, provides optimal growth for individuals and preserves Individuals’ dignity and self-worth while focusing on person centered planning and self-determination.
- Acts as coordinating leader in communication with individuals’ team members including all physicians, health care providers and other community agencies. Communicates with families/guardians on a regular basis regarding resident needs and progress.
- Knows and implements all programmatic policies and procedures. Must maintain a thorough, current knowledge of all state and federal rules, laws, and regulations pertaining to operation of an ICF/IDD.
