Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization.
- Supporting upgrades to computer components and software, management of virtual servers, and integration of automation processes.
- Supporting troubleshooting hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
- Supporting documentation and technical specifications for planning and implementing new or upgraded IT infrastructure.
- Supporting regular backup operations and implementing appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
- Supporting desktop and helpdesk efforts, ensuring all desktop applications, workstations, and related equipment problems are resolved in a timely manner with limited disruptions.
- Supporting capacity, storage planning, and database performance, and monitoring and managing all installed systems and infrastructure.
- Functioning as an experienced administrator with digital engineering and possessing a solid foundational understanding of digital engineering methodologies.
- Taking direction from more senior personnel.
- Engaging and sharing work with other System Administrator IIs.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in an IT or related discipline and four years of professional experience.
- DoD 8570.01-m IAT Level-II Certification within 6 months of commencing work.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Administration or Engineering.
- Relevant industry standard certifications such as Microsoft, Red Hat Linux, AWS, or VMWare.
- Experience with scripting languages and automation tools such as Ansible, Salt or Puppet.
Clearance Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI with the ability to obtain & maintain a Polygraph.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to be in a stationary position more than 50% of the time.
- Must be able to communicate, converse, and exchange information with peers and senior personnel.
- Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a computer.
