JOB DESCRIPTION
As a part of our team, you will direct and coordinate our business development and marketing efforts. You will design and implement effective sales strategies and create programs that provide exposure to new business prospects to meet our goals and objectives. You will coordinate public relations and media for articulate branding and marketing. You will develop and implement promotional programs and plans; cultivate and develop potential business prospects; prepare presentations, award submissions, and qualification packages; and assist in preparing proposals.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING
· We prefer candidates who have a degree in business administration from an accredited university
· And three to five years of experience in a similar capacity
Building development/design/construction industry experience is a plus
· Certified Business Development Manager (CBDM) or similar certification is a plus
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Business Development Strategy
· Assist MZA members to write and implement a strategic business development plan to help us achieve our overall objectives
· Monitor key indicators of business development and marketing outreach effectiveness to track progress and identify areas we can improve our effectiveness
· Identify new market opportunities and find new services we can offer our clients
Market Research and Analysis
· Identify and keep a database of potential clients and market segments that develop the kinds of projects MZA members identify as important to the furtherance of our mission and are relevant to MZA’s goals and expertise
· Analyze local market trends, development projects, and economic factors impacting the architecture and construction industry
· Research and stay current on market rates for architectural fees and services across different project types
Lead Generation and Prospecting
· Actively seek out and develop new business opportunities
· Create targeted marketing strategies to attract potential clients
· Participate in and assist with making compelling presentations to showcase MZA and highlight individual MZA members
· Advise MZA members in writing and negotiating fee proposals
· Monitor online project posting boards and produce responses to Requests for Qualifications (RFQ) for potential Metro Nashville and State of Tennessee projects
· Volunteer with and maintain memberships in professional organizations and accompany MZA members at organization events
Client Relationship Building
· Identify key decision-makers, developers, contractors, and other industry professionals and accompany MZA members to network with them
· Work with MZA members to establish and maintain strong client relationships through regular communication and follow-ups
· Work closely with MZA members to understand client needs and expectations and assist with tailoring successful design proposals
Collaboration and Communication
· Work with MZA teams including design architects, project managers, and team members to achieve a seamless client experience
· Communicate effectively with MZA members, design architects, and clients throughout the sales cycle, addressing concerns and providing updates on project progress
Marketing
· Maintain a coordinated social media marketing strategy, consistently align content across platforms with MZA brand voice, target audience, and overall marketing goals, ensure a cohesive message, regularly analyze performance metrics to adapt media approaches, and actively engage with MZA’s audience to build community
· Lead the preparation of marketing materials including Requests for Proposals (RFP), Requests for Qualifications (RFQ), hand-outs, work portfolios, awards submissions, journal articles, and other materials
· Manage website posts and updates
· Manage social media accounts and post news, project photos, events, and promotions
· Plan and execute events and promotions to introduce MZA to new clients and the community
