Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC)
The Manufacturers Resource Center (MRC), a nonprofit organization affiliated with Lehigh University, is seeking a full-time Lean Manufacturing Consultant/Trainer/Coach to join our team. For over 35 years, MRC has been dedicated to helping small and mid-sized manufacturers thrive by implementing Lean processes, driving strategic growth, and optimizing investments in advanced technologies and team member development. We are partially funded by the U.S. Department of Commerce’s NIST-MEP program and the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development.
Position Overview: As a Lean Manufacturing Consultant/Trainer/Coach, you will work directly with manufacturers in the surrounding five-county region, providing expert consulting, coaching, and training in Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma principles. Your role will focus on helping businesses reduce waste, increase operational efficiency, and drive innovation, ultimately leading to improved sales and profits.
Key Responsibilities:
- On-Site Analysis & Process Improvement: Meet with manufacturers to assess operations and identify opportunities to implement Lean methodologies that drive waste reduction, efficiency gains, and workforce development.
- Leadership Coaching & Mentoring: Provide tailored leadership coaching to business leaders, focusing on continuous improvement strategies that foster growth, eliminate waste, and enhance organizational strengths.
- Collaborative Proposal Development: Work with sales and delivery teams to create training and consulting proposals that exceed client expectations and deliver measurable results.
- New Product & Service Development: Identify, develop, and launch new Continuous Improvement services for MRC to target manufacturers in the region.
- Professional Development: Stay current with Lean, Six Sigma, and Continuous Improvement trends through research, training, and attending industry conferences.
Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a candidate with:
- Proven expertise in Continuous Improvement, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma methodologies.
- Experience working with smaller, for-profit manufacturers, driving change through practical, results-oriented strategies.
- A strong background in consultative sales, coaching, or mentoring, with a track record of guiding leaders to achieve business transformation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build effective relationships with clients and internal teams.
