What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Coordinator position at Manufacturing Company?
General Purpose of Position:
Responsible for assisting the Purchasing Manager with the sourcing, selection and purchasing functions for the procurement of production materials, vendor services, various supplies, and equipment.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Creation of Purchase Orders from internal requisitions.
- Expedite open orders and resolve immediate issues such as price discrepancies, over or under shipment quantities or defective material.
- Place and run reports on orders to ensure delivery requests are met.
- Coordinate with freight forwarder and broker on inbound shipments.
- Receive orders, verify accuracy of invoices, and maintain inventory.
- Conduct visual inspection of inventory to assure accuracy on a monthly basis, and provide reports via the Monthly Cycle Count sheet.
- Manage returns including requesting return authorizations (RAs), follow through on RAs through replacements or credit and close RAs. Document total issues for vendor matrix.
- Maintain sound vendor relationships.
- Serve as back-up to Production Assistant, as necessary.

Educational Requirements:
- Associates Degree Required. Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
Training &/or Experience:
- 3 years purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment. Manufacturing experience a plus.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay Range: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
