The IT VP / Director role is responsible for all aspects of Information Technology (IT) applications, network, cyber security, and hardware systems throughout the company and is responsible for ensuring the use of modern IT software and technologies to streamline business operations. Duties also include communicating between other company Executives and lower-level IT personnel, reviewing current IT systems and establishing relationships with technology companies.

  • Provides technology vision and leadership and day-to-day management of Information Technology (IT) applications, network, security, and hardware systems throughout a multi-site manufacturing company
  • Establishes and directs the strategic long-term goals, policies, and procedures for the Technology department
  • Working experience with ITAR security and training requirements specifically CMMC / NIST SP 800-171 / CUI certifications and controls
  • Directs the strategy and procedures for acquiring, deploying, maintaining, supporting, or replacing IT software and hardware assets
  • Establishes and directs the strategy for protecting, storing, and retrieving data that comes from various information systems
  • Oversees various staff and staff levels efficiently and effectively, manages high dollar contracts, IT capital investments, and ensures the IT resources of the integrate technology into the strategic and operational plans of the institution
  • Manages the development, implementation, maintenance, and support of new and current technologies, including both operational and administrative software systems applications and associated hardware, voice / video / data networks, information security, wired and wireless infrastructure, and all associated telecommunication systems and devices
  • Manages IT strategy and projects in cooperation with departments, staff, and outside consultant staff.
  • Direct and ensures implementation of IT strategy and best practices for proactive management of IT assets and infrastructure
  • Directs and ensures that customer / client IT needs are translated into tangible project goals and schedules
  • Oversee the composition and research of project specifications methodology and procedures
  • Directs the development, implementation, and maintenance of a fiber optic infrastructure, cellular infrastructure, UHF infrastructure and IP telephone infrastructure
  • Oversee the development and implementation of information security infrastructure, procedures, and standards in order to protect all data of the company from cyber security threats
  • Directs effective management of multiple IT contracts, holds department accountable and responsible for meeting the objectives and goals
  • Provides executive and policy direction to managerial, professional, and technical staff engaged in implementing technology functions
  • Establishes and executes programs to meet objectives and develops an organization that will effectively administer area responsibilities and functions
  • Evaluates the performance of management and supervisory staff for compliance with programs and policies and attainment of goals and objectives
  • Represents the department with various levels of management throughout the company and with other transit jurisdictions
  • Collaborates with management and staff in the development of strategic and operating plans
  • Leads the preparation and administration of the budget of the IT cost center
  • Oversee, manages, and presents operating budgets to top management and various funding and regulatory agencies
  • Hires, trains, develops, monitors, and evaluates performance of staff
  • Reviews and recommends personnel actions for approval
  • Develop strategies for maintaining staff skills and knowledge consistent with current industry standards
  • Manage and maintain capital expenditures and ensure a proper ROI is realized
  • Develop employee systems that open the channels of communication to enhance employee relations and communications
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and Local laws and strict adherence to them and other governmental regulations
  • Ensure all employees are strictly adhering to the standards set forth in the employee handbook including following the disciplinary action procedures, adhering to the proper hiring / terminating standards, filling out and providing the proper documentation in all aspects of employee relations, timely execution of annual employee appraisals including proper budgeting of pay raises, and overseeing that the proper levels of direct labor, indirect labor, and temporary labor as was approved in the annual budget is being maintained

Required Skill Sets : Experience, Education, Training.

  • Educational Requirements :   4-year technical or business degree, equivalent work experience
  • Essential Skill Requirements :   ITAR security and training requirements given the amount of military (including A&D) work which includes CMMC / NIST SP 800-171 / CUI certifications and controls
  • Language :   Fluent and well-spoken, excellent writing skills in English
  • 10 years in progressively responsible IT roles
  • Minimum 5 years of cost center responsibility
  • Good computer systems skills which include :
  • MS-Office :   Outlook, Excel, Word
  • ERP / MRP fluent
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong focus on ‘Doing it right’
  • High passion, energy, drive, and intelligence
  • High levels of initiative and curiosity
  • Strong sense of urgency
