Operations Manager

The Operations Manager will oversee and optimize all day-to-day operations within the sheet metal manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving operational excellence, ensuring quality standards, improving productivity, and leading cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in sheet metal fabrication processes, lean manufacturing, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Operational Oversight:
• Manage daily operations of sheet metal production, including laser cutting, punching, forming, welding, and assembly.
• Oversee scheduling, workflow, and resource allocation to meet production targets.
• Monitor KPIs and take corrective actions to meet operational goals.
• Team Leadership:
• Lead, mentor, and develop production supervisors and shop floor personnel.
• Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
• Conduct performance evaluations and support employee development.
• Process Improvement:
• Identify and implement lean manufacturing and 5S principles.
• Reduce waste and optimize processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
• Work cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and procurement departments.
• Quality & Compliance:
• Ensure compliance with ISO, OSHA, and internal quality standards.
• Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for quality issues.
• Support audits and implement best practices to uphold product quality.
• Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination:
• Collaborate with procurement and inventory control to ensure raw material availability.
• Reduce inventory variances and manage lead times efficiently.
• Maintenance & Equipment:
• Oversee preventive maintenance programs and machine uptime.
• Coordinate with maintenance teams for timely repairs and upgrades.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Business, or a related field. Equivalent experience considered.
• 5 years of operations or production management experience in sheet metal or precision manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and equipment (e.g., CNC lasers, brakes, turrets, MIG/TIG welding).
• Proven experience in lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma methodologies.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $130,000.00 per year
