Manufacturing Maintenance Solutions (MMS) is looking for a Design Engineer with Tooling / Lifting Device design experience and manufacturing engineering skill set in the Pekin area. Tooling / Lifting Device design and Fabrication design experience preferred.
Location : Pekin, Illinois
Compensation / Hours : Full-time, 1st shift 7 : 00AM-3 : 30PM, Monday-Friday
- This position is an exempt position and hours will flex as business requires
- Starting wage offer will be based on candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, between $28-$35 / hour

Ability to provide engineered solutions for the development of new tooling / lifting devices as well as modifications and repairs to existing products.Competent user of a 3D Solid Modeling system, ideally SolidWorks or Pro-E / CreoCreate mechanical engineering drawings from solid models.Ensure current and new tooling / lifting devices meet standards and performance levels specified by ASME Standards for safety, function, and reliability.Understands significance of data, ergonomics, and safety aspects of the design task, and incorporate these elements.Reduce manufacturing cost through improved design and through consultation with the fabrication department, purchasing and suppliers.Investigate and address customer and shop concerns in a timely manner.Remain knowledgeable of current industry and safety standards.Well-developed organizational skills and ability to work independently or with a team.Knowledge of manufacturing engineering practices.Experience with Microsoft Office – including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Ability to carry out verbal and written instructionsAbility to use and understand NC files for cutting tools is a plusRequirements : Responsibilities :
Strict adherence to safety regulations, policies, and standardsCreate solid models and engineering prints for the fabrication shop and customersDaily communication with the fabrication shop to ensure the manufacturability of design and reviewsResponsible for any design changes from reviews or fabrication changes.Responsible for maintaining accurate design records.Responsible for all material orders of assigned designs.Responsible for company equipment (laptop).Physical Demands and Working Conditions :
The duties of this position will be performed primarily in a factory environment. While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to :
Communicate effectivelyTravel in and around a fabrication shop, factories, and office facilitiesSafely maneuver around equipmentOperate tools and equipment as requiredLift or move 50 pounds occasionally
