Responsibilities
- Financial Data Management: Gathering and monitoring financial data, preparing internal statements (balance sheets and income statements), and assisting with forecasting cash, costs, and revenues.
- Asset Management: Optimizing and managing the Construction in Process (CIP) and Fixed Asset Tracking process. This includes recording newly acquired assets (both tangible and intangible), tracking existing fixed assets, recording depreciation, and accounting for the disposition of fixed assets. Additionally, it involves reviewing equipment assets with the engineering team to ensure a comprehensive list of assets, and managing leases, right-of-use assets, and related liabilities.
- Financial Analysis: Analyzing financial trends and drafting annual financial statements and notes.
- Intercompany Transactions: Processing intercompany elimination entries and managing month-end activities to ensure timely close.
- Lease Accounting: Managing lease accounting activities in accordance with ASC 842. This includes ensuring compliance with the standard, which requires organizations to record the majority of their leases on the balance sheet and involves both right-of-use assets and lease liabilities.
- Recommendations and Compliance: Drafting and presenting recommendations for accounting practices and procedures and updating the management team on the company's compliance with laws and regulations.
- Cost Management: Monitoring expenses and implementing cost-saving actions. This includes reconciling between multiple layer ledgers, having General Ledger (GL) accounts, cost centers, functional areas, and profit centers.
- External Audits: Completing external audit work papers and memorandums, reviewing internal controls, policies, and procedures for effectiveness, and conducting detailed risk analyses to assess potential gaps.
- Annual Tax and Fees Management: Monitoring and managing annual tax, registration, fees, and dues. This includes ensuring timely filing of tax returns, maintaining accurate records of registration and fees, and managing dues payments.
- Other Duties: Performing other related duties as assigned, including monitoring and reporting on accounting discrepancies.
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of work experience performing U.S. GAAP accounting.
- Strong understanding of Fixed Asset accounting, including Construction in Process (CIP) or Assets under Construction (AUC).
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective time management skills, personal conduct, and change management abilities.
- Ability to interact effectively with co-workers, vendors, contractors, and other business contacts.
- Compliance with Manus Bio's core values for safe and efficient operation and maintaining sound relationships among employees.
- Strong MS Excel abilities, including tracking formulas, improving files, and creating complex tables.
- Proficiency in accounting software SAP Business by Design.
