Benefits Specialist
Position Summary
The Benefits Specialist will be responsible for supporting the Director Compensation and Benefits through the administration of Benefit programs in the US to ensure they are delivered in accordance with plan documents regulatory requirements internal processes and policies. Applies knowledge of benefits techniques processes and practices. This person will collaborate effectively with external vendors and multiple levels of the internal organization.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides advice to employees on Benefit policies practices programs and guidelines and identifies researches and resolves daily matters.
- Leads or assists all benefit programs such as open enrollment benefit fairs wellness events and supports new hire orientation.
- Manages and monitors operation of HRIS system as it relates to benefits administration.
- Manages the exchange of information with carriers and external brokers for claim and utilization data enrollment information and invoice payment / review. Ensures ongoing accuracy integrity and completeness of data and processes in the system.
- Monitors and ensures timely completion of audit compliance and reporting activities related to US benefit plans including regulatory filings and updates notices ACA mandates & reporting and plan audits as required. Remains up to date with industry trends regulatory changes and best practices making recommendations to management for change.
- Assists in research and data trend analysis to make informed recommendations regarding the company's benefits programs.
- Prepares and delivers concise reports to leadership regarding the effectiveness of benefit programs and recommendations for improvement.
- Reviews and assesses efficiency of internal procedures and processes; documents processes; recommends appropriate changes to support automation and continuous improvement.
- Delivers training and ongoing guidance effectively promoting benefit programs and initiatives to HR management and employees .
- Works collaboratively with internal business units to recommend solutions to resolve benefit issues and serves as an ongoing resource to the entire organization on benefit inquiries and issues.
