What are the responsibilities and job description for the Holding House Loading Technician- 2nd shift position at Maple Leaf Farms?
Essential Duties:
- Move ducks in accordance with Duck Well-Being, Care and Handling Guidelines. Recertified annually on Duck Well Being, Duck Care and Handling Guidelines.
- Work with Live Production drivers to load ducks while adhering to all department OAWs and Duck Well Being, Care and Handling Guidelines.
- Conduct Holding House duties such as unloading Market Age Duck Trailers, handling fatigued ducks through the use of totes and carts, moving ducks from barn to round room and moving ducks from the round room to the belt.
- Wash and Sanitize Market Age Duck Equipment as needed.
- Communicate to supervisor or lead any irregularities observed in the Holding House, such as non-functional equipment, poor air quality, etc.
- Performs related duties as required.
Job Specifications:
- Experience in poultry rearing is helpful.
- Position requires the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Skills And Abilities:
- Ability to follow policies on safety, Duck Well Being and Biosecurity guidelines.
- Able to work effectively with others; communicate along all levels of staff as required.
- Can resolve minor problems related to loading and unloading ducks, equipment operation required to meet operational objectives within guidelines and company policy.
Working Climate:
Job requires the ability to work in all types of weather. Weekends may be schedule as needed. Physical requirements include heavy lifting, walking for extended periods of time, unloading trucks and trailers, and washing trucks and trailers. Employee may work with chemicals such as disinfectants, and solvents.
