Position Summary:
In Central Supply the employee must be able to perform, including but not limited to, these essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation by the employer, without posing a direct threat to him/her or to others. Supervise, coordinate, and perform office functions under the direction of the Administrator in accordance with State, Federal and Company policies, procedures and sound accounting practices; demonstrate knowledge and skills in filing systems, telephone techniques, typing reports and other correspondence; effective verbal and written English communication skills; above average typing and basic understanding of computer technology; must be able to relate positively and favorably to residents, families and to work cooperatively with others; maintain regular attendance; must meet all local health regulations and submit to and meet drug screening, criminal background investigation and reference inquiry criteria; must be able to lift and carry items up to 30 pounds.
With Medical Records, the employee must be able to perform, including but not limited to, these essential functions with or without a reasonable accommodation by the employer, without posing a direct threat to him/her or to others. Requires full range of body motion; physical dexterity; hand-eye coordination; standing and walking for extended periods; corrected vision and hearing to normal range; effective verbal and written English communication; lift and carry items weighing up to 30 pounds.
Qualifications of Medical Records and Central Supply:
- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Computer skills
- Knowledge of administrated practices, procedures, and guidelines
- Organizational Skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Valid Pennsylvania ID.
JOB DESCRIPTION for Central Supply:
1. Establishes and maintains medical supplies for the nursing unit, orders supply from vendor based on quality and cost.
2. Verifies supplies received for quality and amounts, labels, medical supplies, as directed by administrator.
3. Delivers medical supplies to the nursing unit weekly.
4. Inputs all labeled medical supplies into the computer for appropriate resident billing.
5. Keeps supply notebook and medical supply computer program up to date with new residents and status of residents.
6. Track inventory ordered and used.
7. Provides GEC with resident utilization of incontinent products, blood glucose testing usage and medical supply report.
8. Understands and maintain confidentiality at all times.
9. Demonstrates effective time management and organizational skills.
10. Attends meetings and in-services as requested.
11. Performs other duties as assigned
12. Work within the facility budget and ordering platforms.
13. Work within a professional and positive environment. Keep areas clean and organized.
14. Attend facility meetings, committees and programs as required.
JOB DESCRIPTION for Medical Records:
1. Maintaining patient files and retrieving files for scheduled appointments
2. Responding to requests for medical records and processing letters and reports
3. Retrieving residents’ records and uploading them.
4. Photocopying records and documents for billing or legal services, sending and receiving information via fax machine, and answering phone calls.
