What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Interventionists - Alternative Program position at Maple Run Unified School District?
MRUSD is seeking 2 Behavior Interventionists (BI) to support students who are struggling socially, emotionally and behaviorally to maximize learning and success. A BI delivers educational and support services, directly and indirectly, with the goal of meeting classroom expectations through positive and meaningful experiences within and outside of the classroom. The BI will implement a student's individualized behavior support plan within a variety of settings within the school and the community. The BI will implement behavior intervention plans and create behavior modifications through skill acquisition, positive reinforcement and the reduction of problematic behavior under the direct supervision of a qualified professional.
Education and/or Experience: H.S. Graduate or equivalent, column placement based on Educational Support Professionals Master Agreement. Behavior Interventionists must have current Handle With Care (HWC) certification or the ability to obtain HWC certification upon being hired. Preferred knowledge of Applied Behavior Analysis and trauma-informed care and one or more years of successful experience with students with intensive and complex behavioral needs.
