Director of Curriculum/Instruction and Student Services

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum 5 years of successful teaching experience.
- Experience in administration or Central Office preferred.
- Iowa Administrative Certificate / Evaluator Approval (or willingness to get).
- MA or MS in Administration or Curriculum & Instruction.
- Demonstrated leadership in the areas of Curriculum, Instruction, Assessment and special programs.
- Strong working knowledge and background with Iowa Core Curriculum.
- Demonstrated ability to lead data teams and develop instructional coaching model.
- A team-oriented leader with a proven ability to work collaboratively with board members, administrators, teachers and parents to meet the needs of all learners.
- Proven ability to implement meaningful program changes to better meet the needs of all learners.
- Ability to encourage and support all staff members while maintaining and monitoring accountability to ensure success for all.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize appropriate technological tools to enhance organization, communication and productivity.
- Experience with the PLC process.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES-CURRICULUM/INSTRUCTION
- Facilitate staff development planning and training for the school district.
- Oversee Curriculum and Instruction and Professional Learning.
- Providing leadership and support of school initiatives designed to increase student achievement.
- Collaborate with building principals on supports that are needed to meet building goals that align to our district goals.
- Communication liaison with the Department of Education, AEA staff and other stakeholders to align district professional learning needs.
- Collaborate with the superintendent to develop learning needs for the Admin team and District Leadership team.
- Provide regular communication to the district/buildings or CTT teams regarding curriculum, instruction needs/expectations.
- Support district TLC implementation by providing direct support to Instructional Coaches and learning to CTT (Collaborative Teacher Team) leads
- Coordinate district planning for Iowa State Assessment of Student Progress (ISASP)
- Reports directly to the Superintendent of MCSD
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES-STUDENT SERVICES
- Facilitate with building principals special education meetings and support staff learning.
- Attend any collaborative meetings for students who receive special education services as requested by building principals or families.
- Ensure district staff are informed and comply with state and federal special education procedures.
- Serve as Homeschool Liason for families who may consider homeschooling and provide additional support to develop next steps.
- Serve as the Homeless Liaison for the District
- Administrator of the ELL program, FAST testing, Talented and Gifted program
- Reports directly to the Superintendent of MCSD
- Other duties normally assigned to this position: Board Policy 303.5 / 303.5E1: Administrator Duties.
Length of Contract: 225 Days
Starting Date: August 1, 2025 (or as mutually agreed)
Compensation: Based on successful experience and qualifications
