PURPOSE OF POSITION:
The purpose of this position is to manage Marathon Junction concession stand, the train operation, and the Splash Pad in Marathon Park its areas, facilities and programs, to direct the operation and oversee public and private use of this area and supervise seasonal staff. This work is performed under the direction of the Recreation Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Directs and supervises the seasonal staff: inspects all food service and train equipment, splash pad, equipment buildings and grounds; secures facilities after use; reports problems to Recreation Coordinator and Park Operations. Assigns work at the Junction, and Splash Pad, including the train operation, outside seating areas, and splash pad grounds. Enforces safety standards, facility-use rules and regulations as required by licensing authorities and department policies.
- Provides information regarding facility use, set up, events, and staff requirements to the public; oversees public and rental use of the facility.
- May collect and record attendance records and ticket fees, vend snack bar products and collect snack bar receipts and other program receipts as needed.
- Responds to inquiries and answers questions from the public and staff regarding park use and policies; provides information and referrals as needed, responds to emergencies, responds to and resolves complaints and concerns.
- As needed, fills in at any position including, but not limited to, Train Operator, Snack Bar Attendant, and/or Splash Pad Attendant.
MINIMUM TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
High school graduation required plus preference of two years post high school work experience or training in a service provider field. One year preferred of supervisory experience.
Must have the ability to obtain a current Wisconsin Dept of Health and Family Services Food Handlers Certificate at the level required by the concession license issued to the Marathon Junction Concession Stand.
COMPENSATION:
$16.00/hour. There are no benefits for this seasonal position.
