Civil CAD Technician

Marathon Engineering is seeking a talented, full-time CAD Technician to join our Rochester team. This is a key role in producing high-quality designs for a range of civil engineering projects, with a focus on site development, stormwater management, utilities, and grading. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in CAD design, particularly using AutoCAD/Civil 3D, and will work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure precise and timely project delivery.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Develop and revise CAD drawings, including site plans, grading plans, utility layouts, and stormwater management designs.
• Work closely with engineers and project managers to ensure the alignment of CAD drawings with design intent and project requirements.
• Perform routine calculations and data analysis for preparing drawings, including site layout and utility designs.
• Convert rough sketches and design notes into accurate CAD drawings, ensuring they meet company standards and project specifications
• Review design documents for accuracy and completeness, making corrections as needed.
• Collaborate with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve design issues during the drafting process.
• Ensure compliance with applicable standards, codes, and regulatory requirements in the preparation of drawings.
• Manage and deliver completed drawings and sets within project timelines and quality standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Computer Aided Drafting, Civil Engineering Technology, or related field.
• 4 years of relevant experience in CAD drafting, preferably with civil engineering, site development, or infrastructure projects.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D
• Strong knowledge of drafting and design principles, including civil engineering terminology and standards.
• Ability to interpret engineering sketches and designs, transforming them into high-quality CAD drawings.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Knowledge of stormwater management, grading, and utilities design is a plus.
