Job Description:
The Part-Time Instructor, Community Education will be responsible for creating a safe and enjoyable environment while working closely with the community to promote active lifestyles and encourage participation in recreational activities. This includes planning, organizing, and leading various programs and activities such as sports, fitness classes, games, and other leisure activities.
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of participants by enforcing rules, monitoring activities, and responding to emergencies as necessary
- Maintaining equipment and supplies, ensuring they are used properly and safely
- Promoting participation in recreational activities through community outreach, marketing, and engagement efforts
- Preparing reports, maintaining records, and completing necessary forms related to program attendance, incidents, and other relevant data
- Collaborating with other staff members, volunteers, and community partners to enhance program offerings and improve service delivery
Requirements:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required. Additionally, six months of formal fitness or classroom teaching experience, or an equivalent of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, is also required.
