Job description
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Lumber Technician to join our production team. This role involves working with saws, nail guns, and precision measuring tools to process lumber, as well as managing the heavy-duty task of lumber separation. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in woodworking or construction, be able to safely operate equipment, and excel in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lumber Processing:
o Operate saws to cut lumber to required dimensions.
o Use nail guns for assembly and securing lumber components.
o Accurately measure and mark lumber for production specifications.
Production Support:
o Assist in the setup and breakdown of production lines.
o Monitor equipment and tools to ensure proper functionality.
o Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily output targets.
Material Handling:
o Perform lumber separation tasks, handling heavy loads safely.
o Organize and sort lumber according to quality and production needs.
o Ensure proper storage and inventory management of lumber supplies.
Safety and Quality Control:
o Follow all safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) while operating machinery.
o Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
o Report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards to management immediately.
Qualifications:
- Prior experience in a warehouse, lumberyard, or related production environment.
- Proficiency in operating saws, nail guns, and measuring tools.
- Ability to lift heavy materials and work in a physically demanding role.
- Strong attention to detail with excellent measurement accuracy.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment.
- Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and operate equipment for extended periods.
- Frequent lifting, carrying, and moving of heavy lumber pieces.
- Must be able to work in varying environmental conditions, including temperature fluctuations.
