We are seeking the right candidate to join our team now for the remainder of the 2024-2025 school year as a long-term substitute, with the possibility of a permanent role for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate will be a dedicated and collaborative professional, actively engaging in classrooms and the daily life of the school to support students' social-emotional and academic success. They should have expertise in the special education process, the ability to develop measurable goals and benchmarks for students receiving school-based counseling, and the capacity to collect and analyze data on student progress. This role requires a proactive, student-centered approach, strong teamwork, and a commitment to fostering a supportive school environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Serve as 504 Coordinator, overseeing eligibility determination, meeting facilitation, plan development, and compliance.
* Manage high school admissions, including writing recommendations, supporting student interviews, facilitating transition meetings, and transferring records. Conduct outreach to area high schools to build relationships, gather insights on admissions expectations, and support students in finding the best-fit school options.
* Provide individual and small-group counseling, including crisis intervention as needed.
* Actively participate in the Wellness Team and support grade-level Student Support Teams through Response-to-Intervention (RTI) strategies.
* Support staff in the delivery of a social-emotional wellness curriculum for grades 4-8.
* Consult with the Head of School, faculty, and parents to support student well-being and success.
* Engage in data-driven goal setting and progress monitoring for students receiving school-based counseling services.
* Perform additional duties as assigned by the Head of School.
