Downstream Operator 1

Job Summary:

Down Stream 1 operators will hand pack a variety of paper products in boxes then stack them on pallets to be shipped along with other assigned duties within the converting process.

Education and Experience Requirements:

· No prior experience required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

· Ability to lift 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to work as a member of a team.

· Ability to think creatively and solve problems

· Ability to accept direction and constructive criticism

· Ability to maintain consistent attendance and punctuality

· Ability to accurately read a standard and metric tape measure

· Ability to safely use tools within the converting operation

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to

· Inspect and document materials, products, and packaging to ensure compliance of quality standards as specified within the product spec sheet.

· Maintain work area and equipment in a safe and orderly manner.

· Perform stacking within pallet configurations as specified on the product spec sheet

· Label placement

· Proper roll placement of cartons

· Carton sealing inspections

· Tape machine set-up and tape replacement

· Raw material prep

· Start/I cut applications and cut quality assurance.

· Core plug insertion with items that require core plugs

· Time management and uptime maximization

· Finished goods stacking of product following safe lifting methods.

· Operate bailing equipment in a safe manner to ensure waste bails are secured with bailing material and properly labeled for identification purposes.

· Required overtime hours on off days when necessary to ensure vacancies are covered and operations remain efficient.

Physical Requirements:

· Ability to lift 25 lbs. consistently and occasionally up to 50 lbs.

· Ability to stand, walk, stoop, and step up/down a platform and perform repetitive tasks

· Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
