A Shipping/Receiving Operator with a CDL License Will be responsible for assisting with the movement, storage, and transportation of goods in a warehouse and/or distribution setting. Below is a job description for this role:
Job Summary:
The Shipping/Receiving Operator with a CDL license, but not required to oversees the accurate and timely shipping, receiving, and transportation of goods. This role requires the ability to operate warehouse equipment, handle documentation, and occasionally drive company vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Inspect and verify incoming shipments against purchase orders and packing lists.
- Ensure outgoing shipments are accurately prepared, labeled, and loaded.
- Organize and store materials appropriately in the warehouse.
Transportation Duties:
- Safely operate company vehicles, including trucks, to deliver or pick up materials.
- Ensure all cargo is properly secured and complies with DOT regulations.
- Maintain delivery schedules and communicate updates with dispatch or management.
Inventory Management:
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records of stock levels.
- Report discrepancies, shortages, or damages promptly.
Equipment Operation:
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on vehicles and equipment.
Compliance and Documentation:
- Maintain and submit accurate logs for shipments, deliveries, and vehicle use.
- Adhere to all safety, security, and regulatory requirements, including CDL-specific regulations.
Requirements
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Forklift certification (preferred or willingness to obtain).
Experience:
- Previous experience in shipping, receiving, or a warehouse environment.
- Experience driving commercial vehicles (flatbed, box trucks, or similar).
Skills:
- Strong organizational, time-management, and computer skills.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting shipping documents.
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) and work in a physically demanding environment.
Knowledge:
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and must have strong computer skills.
- Understanding of DOT regulations and safety standards.
Work Environment:
- Physical warehouse environment with exposure to varying temperatures.
- May involve overtime or weekend shifts based on operational needs.
This position is ideal for individuals who are detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and have excellent time-management skills.
This job will be a second shift position.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.50 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 60 per week
