About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Irrigation Specialist to lead and oversee the installation and operation of a championship-level golf course. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in golf course irrigation, ensuring optimal turf conditions and water efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate all aspects of irrigation system installation and maintenance.
- Ensure the timely and proper installation of the irrigation system according to project specifications.
- Monitor and adjust irrigation schedules for optimal turf health and water conservation.
- Conduct routine inspections and troubleshooting of irrigation components, including pumps, valves, controllers, and sprinkler heads.
- Collaborate with golf course maintenance teams to ensure seamless integration of irrigation operations.
- Train and oversee irrigation crew members, ensuring quality workmanship and safety compliance.
- Maintain accurate records of system performance, repairs, and water usage.
- Implement best practices in water management to meet USGA and PGA standards.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a similar role on at least five (5) 18-hole golf courses.
- Strong knowledge of USGA and/or PGA irrigation standards and best practices.
- Expertise in golf course irrigation systems, including installation, programming, and repair.
- Proficiency in irrigation software and water management techniques.
- Ability to troubleshoot and resolve system malfunctions efficiently.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Certification in irrigation technology or turf management is a plus.
Pay / Benefits: State Prevailing wage
