We are seeking a highly motivated accounting individual to join our team. As a Business Unit Accounting Lead, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of our financial records and reporting processes. This position will work from our St. Louis Corporate office located at One City Place, Suite 400, St. Louis, MO 63141.
In this role as a Business Unit Accounting Lead, you will be expected to, among other tasks:
- Fully execute the month-end close process for the business unit, including the preparation of journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare and/or review various analyses to identify unusual activity and ensure transactions are properly accounted for, including account variance analyses, balance sheet and income statement fluctuation analyses.
- Prepare monthly commission calculations.
- Play a key role in the integration of this business unit onto our corporate ERP platforms, ensuring smooth transitions and alignment with our accounting systems and controls.
- Work closely with operations teams to understand their business needs and identify potential areas or issues with accounting implications.
- Work with external auditors ensuring audit requests are provided in a timely manner and support the financial statements.
- Address other ad hoc accounting items and projects as they arise, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting - CPA a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years accounting experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proven ability to be proactive and self-starting in identifying and resolving issues, with a track record of implementing process improvements and driving efficiencies.
- Must be detail-oriented individual
- Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions such as pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and data analysis tools.
- Commitment to continuous process improvement.
- Proficiency in ERP systems, financial reporting tools, and Microsoft Excel. Prior experience in Eclipse a strong plus.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
