What are the responsibilities and job description for the AV Technician position at Marcus Evans?
We are looking for a high quality and professional AV Technician to join our in-house team, with the opportunity to develop into a Lead AV Technician for our summits division in the US within 12 months. This role is based in Dallas/Houston, with travel required across the USA for select events.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist in setting up, operating, and dismantling AV equipment for summits, working closely with the Lead AV Technician.
- Assist in maintaining equipment by ensuring proper handling, storage, and testing procedures are followed.
- Provide onsite technical support during summit events.
- Troubleshoot AV issues onsite and ensure smooth event execution.
- Adhere to company guidelines, policies, and quality standards to ensure professionalism and excellence in AV operations.
- Collaborate with team members to create a supportive and efficient work environment, while gaining experience in managing teams and coordinating efforts on high-profile events.
- Continuously improve technical skills and knowledge of company equipment to enhance performance and contribute to the success of summit events, positioning yourself for a future leadership role.
- Communicate effectively with onsite team members and venue staff to ensure smooth operations and successful outcomes.
- Remain flexible and adaptable to meet changing event requirements, and take initiative in addressing issues.
- Uphold a positive and professional attitude at all times, representing the company with integrity and dedication.
- Gain the knowledge and experience required to lead AV operations at events, with the opportunity to take on a leadership role in future summits
Qualifications
- Based in Dallas/Houston, with availability to travel across the USA for summits run at 5-star venues.
- MUST HAVE experience working with LED walls at corporate events.
- Experience working with NovaStar Processors a definite advantage
- A high understanding of audiovisual technology and equipment.
- Willingness to learn and take directions from the Lead AV Technician.
- 3-5 years of experience as an AV Technician within a rental company or event venue.
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow instructions effectively.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with staff in a diverse environment.
- Ability to stay calm, professional, and proactive under pressure.
- Excellent time management skills.
