Job Description
The Server Assistant supports the service team by ensuring tables are cleared, reset, and maintained throughout service. They assist servers with delivering food, refilling drinks, and providing an exceptional dining experience for guests. This role is crucial in keeping service efficient and seamless.
Key Responsibilities
Table Maintenance & Guest Support:
- Assist servers by pre-bussing tables and ensuring guests have what they need.
- Refill water glasses and replenish bread, condiments, or other table necessities.
- Reset tables promptly and according to restaurant standards after guests leave.
- Ensure all table settings are clean, polished, and properly arranged.
Food & Beverage Assistance:
- Support food runners by delivering dishes to guests when needed.
- Help carry large trays and assist with clearing plates between courses.
- Communicate with servers and the kitchen to ensure smooth food service.
Dining Room Organization:
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in the dining area and service stations.
- Restock silverware, glassware, and other essential items during service.
- Assist in keeping floors and common areas clean and presentable.
General Duties:
- Follow health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Assist with side work, such as polishing glassware and folding napkins.
- Support opening and closing duties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Positive attitude and commitment to excellent guest service.
- Prior experience in a restaurant setting is a plus but not required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently in a busy environment.
