Job Description:
The Server is responsible for providing an exceptional dining experience by delivering attentive and professional service. They must be knowledgeable about the menu, anticipate guest needs, and ensure that each table receives high-quality service in a timely manner.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service:
- Greet guests warmly and establish rapport to create a welcoming atmosphere.
- Provide detailed menu knowledge, including ingredients, preparation methods, and pairing suggestions.
- Take food and beverage orders accurately and relay them to the kitchen and bar efficiently.
- Ensure guest satisfaction by checking on tables throughout the dining experience.
- Address any guest concerns or special requests with professionalism and urgency.
Order Management & Delivery:
- Enter orders into the POS system correctly and in a timely manner.
- Deliver food and beverages promptly, ensuring presentation meets restaurant standards.
- Monitor tables and respond quickly to guest needs, including refilling drinks and clearing dishes.
- Assist with upselling menu items and recommending specials to enhance the dining experience.
Coordination & Teamwork:
- Communicate effectively with hosts, kitchen staff, and management to ensure smooth service flow.
- Assist in running food and beverages to other tables as needed.
- Work collaboratively with team members to maintain a clean and organized dining area.
General Duties:
- Set up tables with proper settings and ensure cleanliness before and after service.
- Handle cash, card, and digital payments accurately and process checks promptly.
- Follow all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
- Stay informed about restaurant promotions, specials, and upcoming events.
Qualifications & Skills
- Prior serving experience in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food and beverage, including wine and cocktail pairings.
- Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, and carry trays for extended periods.
- Lift and carry up to 25 lbs.
