Summary
We are seeking an experienced Technical Writer to work full-time on-site. This role involves creating and maintaining IT documentation, translating technical information into user-friendly content, and collaborating with diverse teams to deliver high-quality project deliverables.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain IT documentation, including manuals, instructional materials, and system overviews.
- Translate technical or complex information into clear, concise documents for various stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, and Technical Support teams to produce high-quality publications.
- Review, critique, and edit technical documents to ensure clarity and accuracy.
- Lead or assist in requirement-gathering sessions and document business requirements, user stories, and business processes.
- Conduct business and technical requirements analysis, business process modeling, and methodology development.
- Ensure compliance with organizational documentation standards and maintain a structured internal documentation library.
- Provide project management, leadership, and communication across diverse teams.
- Prepare and deliver status reports and management briefings.
- Facilitate meetings, document outcomes, and coordinate efforts between stakeholders.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. Alternatively, four (4) years of equivalent work experience can substitute for the educational requirement.
Experience:
- At least three (3) years of technical or business writing experience and knowledge of multiple software and graphics packages.
- Certification in Business Analysis (e.g., IIBA or PMI).
- Five (5) or more years of experience as an IT Business Analyst using Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Proven experience with business process design, documentation, and re-engineering.
- Strong organizational, project management, and writing skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within cross-departmental teams.
- Expertise in tools such as Microsoft Word, Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Leadership and facilitation of meetings and documentation efforts.
Preferred Qualifications
- Proficiency with business intelligence tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI, Tableau) and data analysis software (e.g., SQL, Python, R, SAS).
- Certifications such as CBAP or PMI-PBA.
- Familiarity with software development lifecycle (SDLC) methodologies like Agile, Scrum, or Waterfall.
- Experience working on government projects or with technical programming teams.
- Knowledge of IT standards and security.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and initiative-taking skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.

Pay: $55.00 - $65.00 per hour
