Job Summary
We seek a Medical Assistant to provide administrative support and ensure efficient operation of our medical office/hospital. You'll play a vital role in supporting doctors and patients through various tasks related to patient care management, organization, and communication.
Key Responsibilities
- Train and coach new staff members
- Supervise and schedule staff, addressing changes with team discussion
- Assess staff communication with clinical staff to maximize patient satisfaction
- Coordinate doctor's schedules and discuss staff needs with team members
- Interview patients and document basic medical history
- Organize and schedule appointments
- Update and file medical records and insurance reports
- Arrange hospital admissions and laboratory services
- Check with patients and type up patient charts
- Assist during medical examinations and draw up injections and medications
- Produce and distribute correspondence, memos, letters, faxes, and forms
- Handle receivable and payable accounts and maintain financial records
- Clean treatment rooms and medical instruments
Requirements
We require:
- A high school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of a Medical Assistant (CMA)/Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA)/Registered Medical Assistant program
Certifications
We require active Certified/Registered Medical Assistant certification and Basic Life Support through the American Heart Association.
Skills
You should have:
- Proven experience as a medical assistant or licensed practical nurse
- Knowledge of medical office/license practical nurse management systems and procedures
- Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
- Social perceptiveness and service-oriented attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficiency in MS Office and patient management software
