Description:
We are actively seeking talented individuals to join us who are looking to make an impact in science and in the lives of cancer patients.
We are seeking an experienced Program Team Leader to join Mariana Oncology, a subsidiary of Novartis, to develop the overall vision, strategy, execution, and development deliverables for one or more Mariana programs. The position will be highly collaborative in nature, serving as leader of a cross-functional program team(s) to define the integrated product strategy and drive program execution.
Illustrative Breadth of Responsibilities:
- Lead cross-functional teams in the development and execution of an integrated program strategy, working with key stakeholders to incorporate strategic perspectives on preclinical, clinical, regulatory, CMC considerations and competitive landscape perspectives
- Anticipate internal and external drivers of change to program strategy and respond by making well-reasoned and rapid revisions to strategy to minimize risk and maximize opportunity.
- Foster collaboration and alignment among team members from various departments to ensure the program's success.
- Stay attuned to internal and external factors that may impact the program strategy.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all activities are aligned with the overarching program strategy.
- Distill program needs, progress, and recommendations into clear and concise communications for executive management.
- Enable informed decision-making at the highest levels of the organization.
- Proactively seek out and evaluate academic, industry, and business partnerships that align with program goals.
- Define a comprehensive publication strategy for program-related findings and developments.
- Build and effectively lead high performing cross-functional teams by modelling and ensuring leadership, accountability, and collaboration behaviors.
- Articulate business case for program and integrate competitive intelligence insights and differentiation story into overall program strategy.
- Provide input on intellectual property strategy.
Requirements/Skills:
- Education: PhD, MD or advanced degree in biomedical sciences or one of the disciplines related to drug development
- 10 years of industry experience in pharma, biotech or research organization with a proven track record of drug development program leadership from IND through product launch
- Experience in oncology is required
- Demonstrated expertise in multiple areas of drug development and/or broad working knowledge spanning research, pre-clinical development, process development, manufacturing, clinical, and regulatory.
- Strong knowledge in the Oncology therapeutics area desired.
- Proven ability to lead and influence data-driven strategy planning and implementation
- Strong leadership and communication skills with success in influencing all levels cross-functionally.
- Experience in building a collaborative function through coaching, empowerment and driving a learning culture.
- Excellent communication skills, including strong interpersonal skills, leadership and presentation skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact constructively with all functions in a matrix organizational environment
