Salary offers are based on the candidate's equivalent experience and internal equity with other employees within the same job classification. The position is eligible for overtime compensation for all hours worked over 40 in the designated workweek.

About the Position
The Fleet Coordinator operates all types of MCDOT vehicles and assists the Program Supervisor in overseeing vehicle and equipment usage and maintenance for both the MCDOT Admin Vehicle Pool and Road Maintenance Vehicle Pool. The position plays an important role in maintaining safety through such responsibilities as inspections, inventory tracking, and reporting, updating databases, preparing maintenance schedules, and writing vehicle specifications.

We Require
High school diploma or GEDThree years of experience operating trucks and equipmentMust possess a valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a Tanker Endorsement issued by the state of ArizonaWe Also Value

Ensure appropriate and timely transportation of vehicles and equipment between locations; operate all types of fleet vehicles, which include a variety of medium-sized construction and maintenance equipment / vehicles (i.e., motor grader, articulated front-end loader, backhoe, water truck, dump truck, belly dump truck, side dump truck) in accordance with all safety regulations and proceduresAssist with the fleet management and maintenance scheduling functions for the MCDOT Admin pool vehicles and the MCDOT Road Maintenance pool vehicles; coordinate with drivers, work groups, dealerships, vendors, and other County departments as needed; inspect and inventory vehicles and equipment; track vehicle and equipment utilizationAssist with maintaining (AVL) vehicle tracking system (monitoring the AVL system operation, changing malfunctioning vehicle card readers, panic button activations, etc.); input fleet data and update the (AVL) vehicle tracking system with vehicle and equipment mileage, utilization, and repair costs; performs data entry; prepare various related reports including statistical reports; update and assure the accuracy of databasesOperate and maintain hand and power tools and equipment in accordance with all safety regulations and proceduresAssist with writing vehicle (heavy and light vehicle) specificationsAssist with after-hours and weekend emergency response for MCDOT vehiclesPerform other duties as assigned or requiredWorking Conditions
