As an Air Instrument Technician, you will implement work of substantial difficulty administering a variety of specialized analytical, meteorological, and recording instruments for the detection of atmospheric pollutants while working independently and putting your industry expertise to good use.

We Require
Two years of experience in electronic repair and maintenance
High School diploma or GED
Post-secondary education in electronics may substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis
Note: Candidates must possess or have the ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license and have an acceptable driving record by the time of hire
Job Contributions
Perform mandated quality control and quality assurance checks bi-weekly, quarterly, semi-annually, and annually in accordance with EPA regulations
Assemble, install, operate, repair, maintain, and calibrate sampling units by rebuilding pumps and documenting associated events
Maintain and track sampler instrument performance logs and create reports in accordance with Air Quality Department SOPs
Prepare technical reports and assist in the collection, analysis, interpretation, and presentation of data
Assist in the operation and maintenance of monitoring sites and document activities, including site repairs, site safety, and security
Participate in DHS environmental sampling, training exercises, and special events as assigned
Working Conditions
Work will occur in an office and field environment
While performing the duties & responsibilities, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, noxious odors, unsanitary conditions, chemicals, electricity, moving mechanical parts, varying weather conditions, and other related conditions and situations
Position is subject to atmospheric conditions: Fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, or poor ventilation
Incumbent may be subjected to extreme temperatures, wetness/humidity, respiratory hazards, and noise and vibration
Must possess or obtain by the time of hire a valid Arizona driver's license with an acceptable driving record
Within one year of hire, must obtain certification in the USEPA 40-Hour Hazardous Materials Incident Response Operation Course
Specified positions may require a medical exam, US Citizenship, and the ability to pass DHS background successfully
Protective Equipment Required: Safety boots, full-face respirator, Tyvek suit., earplugs, dust masks, safety glasses, hard hat
