QUALIFICATIONS:
A bachelor’s degree in criminal justice, social work, psychology, or a related field is preferred. Prior experience working in a tribal setting preferred. Two years’ experience in crisis intervention and/or emergency services is preferred. Valid driver’s license and evidence of insurability as well as three-year motor vehicle report required. Clearance from Idaho Department of Health and Welfare Background check required.
ADA ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Hearing within normal limits with or without use of corrective hearing devices.
- Vision: adequate to read 12-point type with or without use of corrective lenses.
- Must be able to verbally interact with staff, clients and community members.
- Manual dexterity of hands/fingers for writing and computer input.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Sitting 25 to 75% of the day.
- Standing/walking 25% of the day.
- Pushing up to 30 lbs.
- Pulling up to 20 lbs.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement crisis intervention plans and safety plans for clients at risk.
- Conduct follow-us assessments to monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
- Ensure compliance with policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of compliance related to HIPAA, confidentiality, and patient rights.
- Assess and respond to immediate crisis situations, often related to mental health, substance abuse or domestic violence.
- Provide immediate counseling and therapeutic support to individuals or families in crisis.
- Work closely with Coeur d’Alene Tribal Police and be a member of the Crisis Response Team.
- Work closely with other professionals such as social workers, law enforcement and healthcare providers to coordinate services.
- Assist clients in developing effective coping strategies and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to effectively interact with Director and all members of interdisciplinary team.
- Verbal, non-verbal, and written communication is professional and appropriate.
- Document all crisis intervention services provided to clients in accordance with agency guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records, including assessment notes, treatment plans and progress notes.
- Other duties as assigned.
