What are the responsibilities and job description for the Direct Support Professional (DSP) / Part-time position at Marimor Industries, Inc?

Job Summary: Provides direct and immediate supervision and training to adults with disabilities, supervisory visits and/or training and support to individuals with disabilities at Marimor Industries, out in the community or at their home.

Job Scope: Handles training issues for adults with disabilities, attending and participating in Individual Plan whenever necessary, and giving input in the team process. Provides training and assistance while ensuring services and documentation of the individuals service plan are followed.

Duties:

1. Provide direct and immediate supervision and training on an individual and/or group basis to individuals served, to include but not limited to vocational training, habilitation services, homemaker personal care as designated on the IP. Responsible for clocking individuals in and out of Anywhere and maintaining appropriate documentation. Assure that you have read and signed off on all individual’s plan and revisions that are made to their plan.

2. In vocational areas, have full knowledge of customer contract feasibilities and instructions assigned to vocational area and ensure the quality system is followed. Promote the State’s Employment First Initiative, while providing meaningful activities during times when work is not available and assist individuals to build connections in their community.

3. In habitation areas, provide meaningful activities to individuals, while ensuring that community inclusion opportunities are available so that individuals can build community connections.

4. HPC will coordinate a variety of services and supports, and necessary supervision to ensure the health and welfare of an individual in the community.

5. Cover for Direct Support Professional Lead staff as directed per supervisor.

6. Transports individuals as scheduled. Assist individuals in getting on and off vehicles and if needed, into the facility of destination.

7. Assist individuals with daily living skills such as money management, communication, meal prep, cleaning, community inclusion, communication, transportation, etc. along with personal needs such as toileting, showering, eating and behavioral issues.

8. Complete and maintain all records accurately, orderly, and in a timely manner. These include but are not limited to participating in creating a monthly calendar and/or monthly shopping list, transportation documentation, payroll sheets, incident reports, accident reports, goals and objectives, documentation sheets and other required records, reports, or schedules relative to individual programming. Notify the Habilitation Manager and/or Program Manager of any individual issues that may arise that the individual’s team or SSA may need to be made aware of. Utilize free time productively.

9. Ensure safety and provide assistance in behavior support.

10. Do bus/van duty as assigned. Assist individuals in getting on and off the vehicle and if needed, into the facility of destination.

11. Handle first aid needs of individuals served, referring all major medical needs to the nursing staff or appropriate contact.

12. Participate in in-service training.

13. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent. At least 18 years of age. Successful completion of required training/orientation. Valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to be covered by Marimor insurance. Maintain appropriate certification/registration (including, but not limited to, CPR and First Aid). Satisfactory criminal background, Nurse Aid & Abuser Registry and Driving Abstract checks. Pass company required pre-employment drug test and a physical, as required. Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs., support and move enrollees in a safe manner, according to in-service training. Subject to random drug and alcohol testing.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.50 per hour
