High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required2. Graduate of a Surgical Technologist program3. Completion of Certification program and exam preferred and required for Certified levelEXPERIENCE1. Two years recent hospital or health care facility experience required2. Two years current Surgical Technologist experience preferredLICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONSCertified Surgical Tech Required at hireBasic Life Support Required at hirePREREQUISITE SKILLS1. Knowledge of surgical techniques, anatomy and physiology2. Knowledge of surgical procedures and terminology3. Knowledge of surgical instrumentation, and equipment and supplies4. Ability to work independently, interdependently and under supervision within department and hospital policies5. Good verbal and non-verbal communication skills required6. Data entry computer skills required7. Ability to function in an intermittently stressful environment8.
