Marin Ventures is growing! We are looking for another empathetic and proactive Nursing Assistant to join our team at our adult day program located in San Rafael, CA 94903. As one of our full-time teammates, you'll contribute to our upbeat environment supporting and enriching the lives of adults with developmental disabilities. We provide our program participants with opportunities to engage in all types of activities including art, music, life skills courses, exercise, and more. You are welcome to share your own interests in cooking, sewing, gardening, music, etc. Our Nursing Assistants either drive or accompany program participants on outings in Marin County such as swimming, bowling, hikes in our local parks, exploring libraries, and other special events.

Job Duties

• Instruct and engage in activities reflecting program participants preferences and goals.
• Support participants to maximize independence in all activities.
• Instruct and train participants in life skills.
• Help create and organize classroom activities and community outings.
• Assist participants with lunch and snacks including supervision of mealtimes and assisting participants with eating.
• Assisting participants with personal care and hygiene.
• Take participants on community outings using agency vehicles, personal car, and/or public transportation.
• Complete basic documentation: observation and seizure reports, case notes, data on clients' goals and objectives, van logs, mileage/expense reports, and administrative paperwork.
• Share observations regarding participant progress or concerns with Program Coordinators.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
  
  

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) or any combination of similar education and experience.
• Nursing Assistant Certification preferred but not required.
• Current, valid California driver's license and a clean driving record for a minimum of two years.
• Must be able to pass an FBI and Department of Justice background check.
• Must be physically capable of completing job related tasks such as lifting 25lbs and standing for an entire shift.
• Experience working with people with developmental disabilities highly preferred.
