Labor and Employment Associate - Tampa or West Palm Beach
Our client, an Am Law 200 firm, is seeking an associate with 3-4 years of litigation experience to join their Labor & Employment practice group. This position can be based in the firm’s Tampa or West Palm Beach office.
The estimated salary for this position is $155,000 - $175,000 (annually) and may vary depending on experience and other factors.
Qualifications:
- 3-4 years of litigation experience in a law firm environment
- Labor & Employment experience is required
- A prior understanding of employment-related issues and a working knowledge of the FLSA, ERISA, COBRA, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, and Title VII is desired but not required.
- Strong writing skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team, while being able to work individually
- JD from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
- The ideal candidate will be admitted to practice in Florida (but the firm is willing to consider strong candidates seeking to relocate to Florida)
Responsibilities include:
- Advising clients on compliance with wage and hour and other work regulations
- Handling administrative actions
- Assisting in employment litigation and arbitrations, including drafting pleadings and motions, preparing and responding to discovery, and handling trials and arbitrations
