Political Law Associate - Washington DC
Our client, an Am Law 100 law firm, is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Federal Regulatory & Compliance practice. This position is based in the firm’s Washington, DC office.
The estimated salary range for this position is $235,000-365,000 (annually) and may vary depending on experience and other factors.
Job Responsibilities:
- Working collaboratively with partners and senior associates on a wide spectrum of political law matters, including corporate, non-profit, campaign, PAC, Super PAC, political party, ethics, investigative, confirmation, and litigation-related representations
- Assisting team members with the provision of advice and counsel to clients on matters related to federal, state and local campaign finance, lobbying, pay-to-play, and ethics law
- Helping to grow and manage client relationships in the corporate, non-profit, political, and government affairs spheres
- Supporting the practice team by performing general research and writing tasks for a variety of political law clients
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of political law, regulatory and/or litigation experience
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
- Political, campaign, government, and/or government affairs experience is considered a plus
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate research and advice through written work product and direct client engagement
- Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage complex and detail-oriented assignments
- Comfortable working in both collaborative counseling settings as well as adversarial political and litigation settings
- JD from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
- Must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and be in good standing

Salary : $235,000 - $365,000
