The Washington, DC office of Dentons US LLP is seeking a mid-level associate with 3-5 years of experience and excellent academic credentials to join our Federal Regulatory & Compliance practice. The associate hired for this position will work primarily with our Political Law, Ethics and Disclosure team. Expected responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Working collaboratively with partners and senior associates on a wide spectrum of political law matters, including corporate, non-profit, campaign, PAC, Super PAC, political party, ethics, investigative, confirmation, and litigation-related representations
- Assisting team members with the provision of advice and counsel to clients on matters related to federal, state and local campaign finance, lobbying, pay-to-play, and ethics law
- Helping to grow and manage client relationships in the corporate, non-profit, political, and government affairs spheres
- Supporting the practice team by performing general research and writing tasks for a variety of political law clients

Pursuant to DC law, the salary range for this position is $235,000-365,000, based on experience. Based on years of experience, Dentons US LLP associates may have a title of Associate, Managing Associate, or Senior Managing Associate. Position requirements
Personal skills/attributes
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills and an ability to effectively communicate research and advice through written work product and direct client engagement
- Is organized and efficient and can prioritize, delegate, and manage complex and detail-oriented assignments
- Embraces teamwork and values collaboration
- Understands the importance of client service and is committed to building client relationships
- Is comfortable working in both collaborative counseling settings as well as adversarial political and litigation settings
Technical skills
- 3-5 years of political law, regulatory and/or litigation experience required
- Prior law firm experience strongly preferred
- Political, campaign, government, and/or government affairs experience is considered a plus
Other requirements
- Must be licensed to practice law in the District of Columbia and be in good standing
- Must include a law school transcript and strong writing sample with application
